About Los Cedrales
Los Cedrales is a district in the department of Alto Paraná whose name alludes to the cedar trees that originally populated the area, a testament to the dense Atlantic forest that covered eastern Paraguay before modern colonization. It is located in the Eastern Region of the country. Like most districts of Alto Paraná, Los Cedrales' economy revolves around agricultural production, with soybeans as the main crop. The process of land clearance during the twentieth century transformed the original forest landscape into productive farmland.
