About Yataity
Yataity is a district in the Guairá department recognized throughout Paraguay for the artisan tradition of ao po'i, a delicate hand-embroidered cotton fabric that forms part of the country's intangible cultural heritage. Textile skills are passed down from generation to generation among the district's families. The production of ao po'i defines the local identity and attracts visitors interested in traditional Paraguayan craftsmanship. The district is part of the network of rural communities in Guairá linked to agriculture and the cultural traditions of the eastern region of the country.
