About Yasy Kaã'y
Yasy Kaã'y is a district in the department of Canindeyú, in northeastern Paraguay. Its name comes from the Guaraní language and combines the terms «yasy» (moon) and «ka'a» (plant or herb), reflecting the lexical richness of Guaraní in the naming of places in the country's eastern region. The district's economic activity fits within the predominant productive pattern in Canindeyú, with soybean cultivation leading local agricultural production. The influence of Brazilian-origin colonization and proximity to the border are features shared with the other districts of the department.
