About Ybyrarobana

Ybyrarobana is a rural district in the department of Canindeyú, in northeastern Paraguay. Its name, of Guaraní origin, incorporates the word «yvyra» (tree), evoking the forest cover that characterized this region before the intense agricultural transformation it underwent during the twentieth century. Like the rest of Canindeyú, the district has an economy based on soybean production and other extensive crops, with the presence of communities of Brazilian origin that have been a relevant part of the area's demographic and productive makeup over recent decades.
